Tudor Rose Woodturners
Agree with the war in Afghanistan or not, each day our
soldiers in Afghanistan risk their lives in an effort to make this world safer.
Most members of the Tudor Rose are supporting the registered charity 'Support Our Soldiers' which exists to enhance the morale of, and the provision of welfare, to relieve serving personnel of the armed forces, their families and dependants who are in need by reason of distress, injury, sickness or disability.
At the Tudor Rose Woodturners we are supporting by at each meeting, collecting suitable items which are used to make up shoeboxes full of needed and luxury items which are then sent to the troops right on the front line.
The first six collections have enabled us to provide 25 shoeboxes full of soaps, toothbrushes, coffees, sweets etc. These have all been passed on to the 'Support Our Soldiers' charity for onward transmission.
